I bought this recently and at first, I had doubts about its low price, but it seems to do everything that it's supposed to do just fine.
It needs to be set properly. Your gait and weight have to be configured prior to using the "calories burned" and "distance/step" measurement, but afterwards, it works perfectly.
The pulse function - I'm not sure how accurate it is, but at least it gives me a good idea of my heartrate. Sure it's not instantaneous and sure it may not be accurate, but at least I'm not wearing a chest strap and since I'm just starting out with my training regimen, I don't need an updated telemetry of my vital signs. Nope, an approximate pulse will do.
The clock is a nice bonus. Now, I don't need to wear a watch while I walk/run/jog.
